Research Library for Sundanese Studies (Perpustakaan Pusat Studi Sunda)

Research Library for Sundanese Studies (Perpustakaan Pusat Studi Sunda) is One of the Center for Sundanese Studies Management Program. Edi S Ekadjati was the first leader for this management. in June, 1st 2006 he died. there is no body stands to lead after his death. Mr. Dadang Kahmad leaded for six months and replacment by Mr. Endang Saefullah in May 2008.

The Library was born in o5th May 2006. a month before Mr. Ekadjati death. The Library has a lot of books. Most of them are kinds of Literature, Culture and History. But you may find another type of books and it was not many as the three kinds of the books mentioned.

The books are from Mr. Ekadjati and Mr. Ayatrohaedi inheritance. Both are died in 2006. and Some books are from individuals, visitors etc.


It has been managing using Dewey Decimal Classification. And coming up soon for Digital Library next year in 2009.

It was the youngest Sundanese library in Bandung.
Every month there were about 15-20 people come to observe, to read and to look for data. The visitors are the Sundanese people and foreign people. The foreign are from Javanese, Japanese, American, African, Australian etc.

The library services is in five days a week.
Begins on Monday until Friday from 09.00am - 04.30pm.
The Library is at Jl. Taman kliningan II No. 5 Bandung.

Rumah Baca Buku Sunda Jeung Sajabana

One of libraries that held by self supporting is Rumah Baca Buku Sunda Jeung Sajabana. the founder is Mr. Mamat Sasmita, the pension of PT. Telkom, has Retired in 2007.He was born in Tasikmalaya, May, 15th 1951.
he fond of reading Sundanese Books. Every where he goes he never forget to bring the Sundanese Books. he travels in the whole Indonesian archipelago with his books.
In 1980 he began collecting Sundanese Books and others. After pension, he was been staying in Bandung with his books. At Margawangi VII housing number 5 Bandung.
The books is almost Sundanese but there were also the other books in different studies.
Lot of people come to enjoy reading books there. You may read the books as you want and it' is for free. The books are not for rent. The Old Sundanese stories were there.
